Care Philosophy
Pathology (from Greek pathos = "suffering" and -logia = "study of") is one of the most interesting medical specialties, and a major field in modern medicine, in which we can study and identify the cause of a disease (diagnosis). As a pathologist, I strive to be constantly updated and with enough experience to analyze in the laboratory and under the microscope small pieces of tissue (biopsies) and whole organs to recognize the main ailment of a patient. Thus, I do not offer direct patient care, but based on my diagnoses, I can provide my colleagues from other specialties (surgeons, oncologists, etc.) with specific diagnosis, so they can prescribe their patients with the most appropriate treatment (i.e. surgery, chemotherapy, antibiotics, etc.).
