Empowering Survivors: CU Medicine Experts Lead the Way in Gynecologic Cancer Wellness and Recovery

Discover expert guidance, wellness resources and survivor support at the Hope and Healing: Gynecologic Cancer Survivorship and Beyond Conference in Aurora on February 5, 2026.

Survivorship means more than completing treatment. For many, it means rebuilding strength, wellness and community. On Thursday, February 5, 2026, survivors, patients and caregivers are invited to join the Hope and Healing: Gynecologic Cancer Survivorship and Beyond conference hosted by the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at University of Colorado Anschutz in partnership with the Colorado Gynecologic Cancer Alliance (CGCA).

The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Donald M. Elliman Conference Center, 1890 N Revere Court, Aurora, CO.

What to Expect at the Gynecologic Cancer Survivorship and Beyond Conference

This educational conference offers a full day of programming designed for gynecologic cancer survivors and their support networks. Attendees will explore the latest in medical research and treatment advances, learn about ongoing clinical trials and receive guidance on whole-health strategies.

The agenda also includes topics often overlooked in survivorship care, such as sexual wellness, menopause management and lifestyle support. An interactive provider panel with live Q&A will give participants the opportunity to directly engage with experts.

CU Medicine gynecologic oncologist Kian Behbakht, MD, MBA reflects on last year’s event, “The turnout was phenomenal, with more than 100 survivors coming together for the conference. The energy they brought truly filled the room, fostering an atmosphere of unity and support. Both patients and caregivers walked away with not only valuable knowledge but also a renewed sense of empowerment. It was an event that deeply resonated with everyone who attended."

Colorado Organizations Supporting Survivors

The conference is presented in partnership with the Colorado Gynecologic Cancer Alliance (CGCA), a statewide nonprofit dedicated to supporting women with gynecologic cancers through education, advocacy and community programming.

Together, CU Gynecologic Oncology and CGCA aim to create a space where survivors feel informed, supported and connected to leading experts in gynecologic oncology.

“Much of the care we provide goes beyond medical treatment. It’s about the support from family and the shared experiences of other survivors. As physicians, we need to recognize the strength in these connections and make a conscious effort to involve families and survivor communities,” shares Dr. Behbakht.
