The Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP) will officially end on July 1, 2025. This change is part of a new state law named House Bill 24-1399 that aims to modernize how low-income residents receive discounted health care services. As the State of Colorado transitions to a new system, we want to ensure all patients continue receiving the care and support they need.
What’s Changing?
CICP will be replaced by a new system called Hospital Discounted Care. Under the new law:
- CICP ends on July 1, 2025.
- Hospital Discounted Care will provide eligible patients with affordable services, regardless of insurance status, for care at facilities licensed as hospitals. CU Medicine clinics are not licensed as hospital facilities.
