Bone Tumor Treatment
Our experiences team treats bone tumors based on the extent and location of the disease. Treatment recommendations may include a combination of the following:
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy, a medicine that acts to help shrink the size of the tumor and kills cancer cells. Chemotherapy is administered through an IV, which goes into a large vein in the upper chest and is placed surgically in the operating room.
Chemotherapy drugs can also be given to treat the tumor and other potential cancer cells throughout the body.
Surgery
A tumor may also be removed by surgery. The type of surgery depends on the size of the tumor, the location of the tumor, and whether the cancer cells have spread.
