Research Interest for Referring Providers

My research interests are primarily focused on shared decision-making, quality of care, outcomes research and survey research in genitourinary malignancies. I have a focus in developing decision aids and improve patient communication when confronted with difficult treatment decision, such as prostate cancer screening and treatment. My research program at UC Denver also assesses large data to identify ways we can improve outcomes and the quality of care for surgical patients diagnosed with prostate, bladder and kidney cancer. We also focus on improving the quality of care for patients. I have been externally funded for a career development award from the Conquer Cancer Foundation and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). I am currently funded as a co-principal investigator for an R01 grant from the NCI for an R01 grant to develop decision aids for men diagnosed with prostate cancer.
