Research Interest for Referring Providers
As a physician-scientist, my laboratory studies the role of redox regulated signaling pathways in the contribution to pulmonary vascular diseases. Much of our work focuses on a particular antioxidant enzyme, extracellular superoxide dismutase, which is a key antioxidant in the lung and vasculature that is important in inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. By understanding new mechanisms responsible for disease pathogenesis, we aim to develop new therapeutic strategies to treat these serious diseases.
