Clinical Interest for Patients

My lab focuses on why oncogene-driven tumors—such as those with EGFR, HER2, ALK, or ROS1 mutations—stop responding to therapy and how we can overcome that resistance. This work allows me not only to identify the most cutting-edge treatments for each patient but also to contribute to the development of new approaches that may one day cure individuals with metastatic disease.

Care Philosophy

As a thoracic medical oncologist, my goal is to help people with lung cancer live as long as possible with the highest quality of life, always aligned with their personal values and treatment goals. I work closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialists to design care plans tailored to each patient’s unique situation. I also bring a deep understanding of treatment resistance, informed by my physician-scientist training at MD Anderson Cancer Center and by the research from my laboratory here at the University of Colorado. Ultimately, my mission is to provide compassionate, individualized care while advancing the science needed to improve outcomes for people facing metastatic lung cancer. To further support patients and the broader cancer community, I also co-host the Cracking Cancer podcast alongside several patient partners.
