Clinical Interest for Patients
My clinical interests include the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, treatment of sepsis and respiratory failure, management of alcohol withdrawal and substance-related illness, and supporting recovery and transitions of care after an ICU stay.
Care Philosophy
I strive to provide compassionate, respectful, non-judgmental care that recognizes the complex medical and personal factors that shape health. I believe in meeting patients and families where they are and supporting informed, patient-centered decisions during critical illness and recovery.

Research Interests for Patients
My research focuses on how alcohol and other substance use affect patients who are critically ill. I study substance-related illness in the ICU, explore new ways to treat alcohol withdrawal in the hospital, and develop tools to help patients make informed choices about treatment during recovery. My goal is to improve outcomes and support long-term recovery after critical illness.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
My clinical interests include critical illness related to substance use, management of alcohol withdrawal and other toxicologic syndromes in the ICU, sepsis, acute respiratory failure and mechanical ventilation, and post-ICU care for patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs.
Research Interest for Referring Providers
I am a pulmonary and critical care physician-scientist whose research focuses on substance-related critical illness, particularly alcohol use disorder among ICU patients. My work spans the epidemiology of substance-related ICU admissions, novel approaches to alcohol withdrawal management, and the development of patient-centered interventions to support decision-making and treatment engagement after critical illness. I collaborate with clinical, addiction medicine, and health services researchers to improve transitions of care and recovery for ICU survivors.
