Covid-19 Response

To our community, our patients, our employees and our families, despite the recent events and subsequent impact surrounding the COVID-19 virus, CU Medicine is fully operational and doing its best to continue all our services to our patients while adhering to the Colorado state wide stay at home orders and social distancing.

We stress the importance of adhering to the stay-at-home order as well as the following guidelines:

  • Adhere to strict personal hygiene practices

  • Exercise social distancing both at home and work

  • DO NOT come to work if you are displaying any signs of illness

Given the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 in the community, the following is critical guidance regarding COVID-19 symptoms:

If you experience the symptoms below, there is a significant risk that you have COVID-19.

  • New cough

  • New shortness of breath

  • New fever

What to do if symptomatic

If you are symptomatic, you should do the following:

  • Stay home - contact your primary care provider by phone or email.

  • DO NOT go to an emergency room to get a test for COVID-19 unless you are having a medical emergency i.e. severe respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath or breathing difficulties.

  • Call 911 or go to an emergency room if you are having a medical emergency.

  • Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recommends that unless you are tested and confirmed to be negative for COVID-19, you should assume that what you have is COVID-19, and self-isolate until:

    • You have had no fever for at least 72 hours (that is 3 full days of no fever without the use of fever-reducing medication like Tylenol); AND

    • Other symptoms have improved (for example, when your cough or shortness of breath have improved); AND

    • At least 7 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared.

We are also monitoring insurance coverage guidance from Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance Plans and will make best efforts to ensure our patients receive their maximum insurance coverage.

We thank you for the trust you place in us for your health care and we send well wishes to all in our community.
