Palliative Care is designed to ease the symptoms, pain and stress of serious illness for your child and family. The Palliative Care Team also works to make positive experiences and celebrate moments of joy for you and your family during this difficult time.

Quality of Life Clinic
Quality of Life Clinic is focused on helping you and your child manage life with a serious illness through a type of specialized medical care called palliative care. This type of care focuses on providing relief from both the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family through discussion of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns. It is appropriate at any stage of illness and can be provided along with treatments that are focused on cure.
Some people think of us as their “medical coach”, we help provide an extra layer of support as they navigate the strain of serious illness.
What should I know about appointments in the Quality-of-Life Clinic?
During the first appointment, the doctor will ask questions about all areas of life to find out the best way to help your child and family. We recognize that you likely already attend many appointments and do not wish to add to the burden. Virtual visits (known as telehealth visits) are available as well!
