Provider Expertise
Clinical Interest for Patients
I provide clinical care for the most acutely ill and needy children in the seven-state area served by Children's Hospital Colorado.
Care Philosophy
I never forget what a privilege it is to be entrusted with sharing healthcare decisions with families. The sense of privilege helps me maintain my humility, the idea of sharing reminds me to keep families engaged in their child’s care, and the role I plan in being entrusted with these decisions reminds me of the discipline required of clinicians to keep up with best practice so as to best honor this privilege.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
My clinical specialty is Pediatric Emergency Medicine. I am engaged in improving care for our sickest children through my leadership of the hospital's Scientific Advisory Council, through my involvement in quality improvement projects, through my research on improving the quality of care for acute conditions (asthma exacerbations and dehydration), as well as through my role in digital (website, social media) healthcare communications aimed at patients, providers, and policy-makers.
Research Interest for Referring Providers
My research focuses on the system-level, individual care provider-level, and patient-level factors associated with healthcare utilization patterns and with the quality of disease management/control in the emergency department and in primary care settings.
