Care Philosophy

Dr. Gluf spent virtually his entire adult life serving our country in the United States Navy. After graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1982 he served onboard ships and as a Special Operations Officer (Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)/Navy Diver) before attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He completed Neurosurgery residency and complex spine fellowship at the University of Utah and was Chairman of Neurosurgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego for several years before retiring from active duty service in December 2010. He comes to Denver from UT Southwestern (UTSW) in Dallas where he specialized in complex spine surgery. He has a particular interest in neurotrauma and teaching Neurosurgery residents and medical students and was a teaching faculty at the UTSW medical school.

As a former US Navy Diver/Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer I still travel the world SCUBA diving, with a particular interest in large pelagic animal encounters. Reading military history, biographies and traveling in Asia and Europe visiting WW II battle sites
