Clinical Interest for Patients
Prior to taking the position of Medical Director with Patient Coordinated Services in September 2017, where I now have a limited primary care practice and see patients in the Executive Health Program, I had a primary care practice with UCH at Lowry, and I was the medical director for the Center for Integrative Medicine (since the clinic opened in 2001). I continue to be interested in using lifestyle (exercise, nutrition, sleep, mind/body) and evidence-based complementary medicine approaches (like acupuncture, chiropractic, massage) for health, integrated with conventional approaches like medications and surgery, if needed. I believe that the patient is at the center of the medical team, and if truly engaged in their own health care, willing to do the work necessary to improve health (emphasizing lifestyle approaches) then we can minimize the use of more invasive therapies. This works best with an active, involved patient. I enjoy working with adult patients of all ages and my goal is to make them feel as well as possible, even when battling illness, and to maintain wellness with the above approaches and age-appropriate preventive health screenings.
Care Philosophy
I believe that the most important person in patient care is the patient. I strive to empower my patients to take as much control as they can of their health and any illnesses so that life feels less out of control and more predictable and fun.
